01 / WHAT IT DOES

Built for reviewing changes, not redrawing the work.

Two different analysis paths address different types of source material. Outputs remain connected to imported source files through content hashes and local project records.

RASTER COMPARISON/ 01

PDF sheet comparison

Render pages, compare rasterized revisions, inspect highlighted regions and export a viewable result. Pixel-based comparison does not automatically align shifted sheets.

INPUT PDF · OUTPUT HIGHLIGHT / PNG / HTML
GEOMETRIC COMPARISON/ 02

DXF modelspace analysis

Compare supported CAD entities, review changes by layer, measure linear geometry and report gross areas of closed 2D contours. Blocks and nested holes are not expanded.

INPUT DXF · OUTPUT CHANGE LOG / UNITS / HTML
02 / WORKFLOW

From source files to a reviewable result.

Every comparison begins with an identified pair of revisions. The same analysis core is available from the desktop application and command-line interface.

01

Import revisions

Copy source documents into a local project. Track contents using SHA-256 digests.

02

Inspect structure

Read pages, DXF layers and geometric entities. Flag excluded geometry explicitly.

03

Review the difference

Inspect visual and structural deltas between revision A and revision B.

04

Document findings

Export an HTML report and available comparison imagery for the review record.

03 / FORMAT COVERAGE

Supported, partial and planned — clearly separated.

The matrix describes the current implementation, not capabilities promised for the commercial release.

FormatCurrent stateCoverage / limitation
PDFImplementedRaster page rendering and pixel differences. Automatic drawing registration remains outstanding.
DXFImplementedSelected 2D entities, revisions, lengths and gross enclosed areas. No full CAD fidelity.
IFCExperimentalOptional metadata inspection. No geometric clash detection or validated 3D takeoff.
DWGNot availableNative DWG import requires a separately evaluated, commercially compatible implementation.

Quantity reporting is preliminary and unsuitable as an unverified construction takeoff. Closed contour areas are gross; openings, overlaps and nested voids are not deducted.

04 / ENGINEERING ROADMAP

Release criteria, not marketing deadlines.

Development prioritizes correct results on reference projects, deterministic regression tests and stable Windows packaging before any license goes on sale.

R01 / REGISTRATIONIN PROGRESS

PDF alignment and tolerance

Reliable page registration, scale preservation and multi-page test fixtures with measurable error bounds.

R02 / QUANTITIESIN PROGRESS

DXF geometry coverage

More entity families, block transforms, area conventions and independent reference quantities.

R03 / BIMPLANNED

IFC validation

Tests against real architectural and engineering IFC files, including properties and geometry where supported.

R04 / RELEASEPLANNED

Windows delivery and QA

Installer verification, fault recovery, performance tests, packaging review and documented limitations.

ABOUT AVAILABILITY / 2026

Not for sale until the software is ready.

Engineering Studio is an engineering software project in private technical development. This page documents current functionality and planned validation work. There is no paid version, preview order, waiting-list payment or public installer.

  • LOCAL PROCESSING — Source drawings stay on the user's machine.
  • NO CHECKOUT — Stripe payments are disabled for this project.
  • RELEASE DATE — Not announced.
